Annually, our libraries offer over 8,000 special programs reaching 200,000 library patrons of all ages. The Library Foundation is proud to report significant organizational stability and capacity-building strides in 2023. Notably, we hired a full-time Executive Director, Erin Dreiling. The Library Foundation Board of Directors has focused on building a strong foundation for growth, with thoughtful additions to the Board to add education, advocacy and fundraising expertise. Comprised of a diverse group of professionals, community leaders, and advocates, our board is dedicated to steering the Library Foundation toward a sustainable and impactful future. In 2023, we conducted two individual giving campaigns - one in the spring tied to Library Giving Day, and one at year-end - and continued to solicit grants from a variety of foundations and philanthropic partners. 20000 The summer reading program was held from June 1, 2023 to August 1, 2023, with a total participation of 13,000 children, teens and adults. A total of 67,000 books were read and over 8,000 individuals attended programs that summer, including craft programs, story times, cooking programs, and book clubs. For library patrons of all ages, access to technology is critical. Many patrons depend on the librarys computers and Wi-Fi to complete homework, apply for jobs and access critical services. The Library Foundation helps the Library System purchase and maintain innovative technology equipment and offer digital accessibility training to patrons.
