The Amyloidosis nine-part series had four modules released in 2023- What Is Amyloidosis, What are the Signs and Symptoms of Amyloidosis, What are the most common types of Amyloidosis, and What do we know about the genetics of Amyloidosis. The HFpEF series has four modules and three were launched in 2023. They are What is heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and who does it impact, What is the clinical workup for diagnosing HFpEF, and What are the phenotypes of HFpEF. In addition to HF-CERT, HFSA offered three 90-minute webinars as a HF-Cert Bootcamp. Under this guidance, the Society may recognize the tax benefit from an uncertain tax position only if it is more likely than not that the tax position will be sustained on examination by taxing authorities, based on the technical merits of the position. The tax benefits recognized in the financial statements from such a position are measured based on the largest benefit that has a greater than 50% likelihood of being realized upon ultimate settlement. The guidance on accounting for uncertainty in income taxes also addresses de-recognition, classification, interest and penalties on income taxes, and accounting in interim periods.Management evaluated the Society tax positions and concluded that the Society had taken no uncertain tax positions that require adjustment to the financial statements to comply with the provisions of this guidance.
