Several programs and projects are currently being implemented in Benin, West Africa. Capacity-Building Program for Community Organizations: Designed for nonprofit local leaders and the beneficiaries of their organizations. Has benefited a few hundreds of people during the year. Expected to benefit much more in the future and adequate materials have been prepared to that effect. 0 13543 Capacity Building Program for Villages Authorities: Designed for local leaders in rural communities. Dozens of village chiefs and advisors participated in the program. Training materials were use for the implementation of the program. 0 13156 Capacity-building program for artisans: Designed for people willing to learn manual work, this program covers the creative beadwork project, African fabrics project, and the Design Plus project. Training materials have been prepared during the year. Approximately 300 people have been trained (in groups and individually) 0 21384 People in need program: Several projects were conducted to help the people in need (orphans, school children, and women) in rural areas. We had to make some revisions to our 2021 return. The changes were recommended by an audit team after they uncovered some inconsistencies in the numbers. Since these errors would affect the 2022 return, we decided to take care of that first. The audit is a contributing factor to the delay in the submission of the 2022 return. In addition, the data used for the 2021 return were lost due to a defective USB flash drive. The key was sent to Micro Center for recover, but in vain. Data storage is a serious issue that we are trying to resolve in our organization. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused. We plead with the IRS to consider not imposing penalty on us, because at the moment, we don't even have sufficient funds to help people who are in dire need for support. We remained grateful for your support for the sake of vulnerable communities.
