No funds are given to individuals. The ACS ensures the items purchased are given to the correct teacher and classroom. Teachers apply for grants for use in their classrooms using forms provided by the ACSEF. A committee consisting of members from the ACSEF Board decides the recipients of the grant. Teacher's names were hidden on the grant applications when presented to the ACSEF grant committee. Grant recipients are encouraged to give updates to the ACSEF on how the grant impacted their students. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8b When the executive board meets minutes are not kept, but notes are, and if any decision is made for the board, board members are notified. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The Executive Board is sent a copy of Form 990 to review before it is filed. After it is filed all board members are notified of its filing at the Board meeting where a copy of Form 990 is also available for them to review.
