In these three states, FEM reached an estimated ten million additional listeners. In collaboration with three local partners, FEM: i) held two focus groups ii) developed two ads in local languages, based on desk research and the focus groups, and had them reviewed by the Ministry of Health and community leaders to ensure they were culturally sensitive, iii) held a stakeholder workshop with over forty attendees, v) aired and monitored radio ad and show content, and vi) surveyed forty target listeners to gather feedback that would assess the impact of the ads and shows, as well as inform the development of the next shows and ads. 42572 0 0 Research and M&E including the transmitter project - FEM conducted research with over two thousand individuals, and hundreds of hours of desk research. Also, FEM developed a new technology to evaluate the impact of the radio based campaigns. The technology is a transmitter that identifies when FEM's content is on air, and replaces it with music withina specific radius from the transmitter location. This results in the audience within this radius not exposed to the ads abd shows temporarily. With this technology, FEM can randomize listeners into control and treatment groups, making it possible to conduct randomized controlled trials of radio interventions in regions where this was previously not possible. FEM is currently using this technology in two locations in Kano. 21447 0 0 Content production & broadcasting - FEM launched a full scale rollout in Kano State which lasted nine months. Funding is usually given to the partners in tranches requested over time on the condition that the funds released are accounted for, records retained and well-kept, available for our review and random audits, as necessary. Our team also meets the partner's team on a regular basis to review budget lines and the cost of items, and to ensure that funding is used in the most efficient way for the most effective and impactful purposes. Schedule F, Part I, Line 3 Accounting method: accrual Schedule F, Part II, Line 1 The grant of $107,620 was granted to African Institute of International Development Professionals(iDEVPRO-AFRICA) by wire transfer. There was non-cash assistance support recorded by the organisation. The purposes of the grant was to support radio based family planning ads and shows and facilitate stakeholder engagements. Form 990, Part III, Line 2 Significant activities in the course of the year included launching a full-scale campaign in May 2022 and conducting small-scale campaigns in three new locations in Nigeria. In addition, FEM began developing transmitters that allow the creation of control groups by overriding normal radio programming and replacing FEM's serial shows and ads on family planning with music to facilitate the assessment of the impact of the ads. Thirdly, FEM conducted research that informed the development of the shows and ads, as well as surveyed beneficiaries to assess the suitability of the shows and ads aired. Lastly, FEM organised multiple stakeholder engagements, and with our partners, built rapport and goodwill with government agencies, religious leaders and community leaders. Thereafter the directors approve the Form 990 and schedules, which are then signed by the Officer and submitted to the IRS through e-filing.
