Reports conservation easements (Part II, line 9) The Organization has a written Conservation Easement Policy, Conservation Easement Enforcement Policy, and a Conservation Easement Monitoring Policy. The Organization records their easements at their appraised values if donated or cost if purchased. Support and expenses without donor restrictions are recognized in equal amounts based upon the fair value of the easement. The Organization monitors easements to ensure that the restrictions are maintained. The Organization monitors these easements in the normal course of its operations and associated costs are expensed as incurred. The estimated value of the easements (or cost if purchased) are not included in the statement of financial position because the easements do not represent a future economic benefit to the Organization.
