Organizers and presenters were volunteers (not reimbursed). One webinar was hosted 17 April 2024. 46348 2764 Planning and support for international congresses is a major activity of the International Society for Neuroethology. The International Congress for Neuroethology took place in Berlin, Germany, 28 July to 2 August 2024. The International Society provided $15,000 seed money the local organizing committee to cover up front organizational costs, and was reimbursed $17,764 from registration fees paid by attendees (revenue of $2764). As part of the Congress, an evening event was hosted for Presidential Symposium participants in Berlin at which the outgoing President of the Society was recognized. The Treasurer authorizes the receipts and recipients before disbursing funds. Grant recipients are judged by committee on the basis of a formal research proposal. Travel and registration reimbursement awards are awarded by committee to individuals who show academic excellence and research as judged by their body of work. Travel reimbursements are subject to allotted funds available for such awards. The Capranica Award is given on the basis of publication of original research on neuroethology during the previous year, with awards decided by a committee. The prior congress was held in Lisbon, Portugal, on 24-29 July 2022. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 3 Membership dues are collected, membership records are maintained, and communication with members is handled by the ISN's management company KGL (301 Concourse Blvd, Ste 210, Glen Allen, VA 23059). Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 6 Professional neuroscientists, postdoctoral researchers working in the field of neuroethology, and graduate students working in the field of neuroethology are all eligible to join the ISN through payment of membership dues. The Treasurer is appointed by the President with the consent of other members of the Executive Committee. Fourteen elected Councilors and 2 elected Early Career Representatives serve in an advisory capacity to the Executive Committee, which consists of the Past President, President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Treasurer.
