Courses at Hard Bargain Farm immerse students in various field studies based on Next Generation Science standards using innovative hands-on activities, field investigations and a focus on agriculture by interacting with farm animals and the sensory garden. Through hands-on environmental education programs, we have reached hundreds of thousands of students across Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Located on a 330-acre property in Accokeek, Maryland, the Foundation's Hard Bargain Farm Environmental Campus offers a unique educational environment that connects students with the natural world. Our curriculum and outdoor education model provide immersive, STEM-focused, NGSS Standards based experiential learning. Our programs are designed to enhance student achievement in critical STEM subjects and align with the growing emphasis on environmental literacy as a requirement for student success. 2024 Impact: - Served 4,128 students through our day and overnight environmental education programs. - 1,852 students and community members participated in the Trash Free Potomac Watershed Initiative. - Hosted 540 children and community members through community events and summer camp day and overnight programs. - Delivered professional development workshops to 65 teachers.
