These standards were either drafted by ABMAs Bearing Technical Committee (BTC) or nationally adopted from the international organization for standardization (ISO). The standards are distributed annually to the member copanies, and are available for purchase for nonmembers. In honor of Professor Tedric A. Harris, ABMA established a program for interns or co-op participants at ABMA member companies in 2011. In 2021, ABMA awarded two $2,500 scholarships to industry interns at member companies. Annual Meeting: The Annual Meeting is held every spring as a joint event with the American Gear Manufacturers Association. The meeting includes numerous networking events, committee meetings, a board meeting, and a number of keynote speakers. Registration is open to employees of ABMA member companies. Fall Meeting: The ABMA fall meeting is held every fall as a joint venture with the Bearing Specialist Association and includes networking events, committe meetings, a board meeting, and a number of keynote speakers. The course is three days long and goes into advanced concepts related to teh lubrication and wear of bearings. Essential concepts of bearing technology is an in-person course taught by ABMA in September. The course is three days long and goes into basic engineering concepts relating to bearings. Advanced concepts of bearing technology is an in-person course taught by ABMA in June. The course is four days long and goes into advanced engineering concepts relating to bearings. World Bearing Association Partnership: The World Bearing Association (WBA) is a partnership formed by ABMA, the Japanese Bearing Association (JBIA), and the European Bearing Association (FEBMA).
