Neurologically and linguistically sound, it is the most prevalent and successful model of reading intervention. According to the National Institutes of Health, 95% of children who have trouble learning to read reach grade level if they receive specialized help early on. Kindergarten to the middle of First grade is the "window of opportunity" to prevent long term reading problems. By providing OG instruction, the MRC effectively targets the gap in order to close it. MRC offers research sound, prescribed lessons based on progress monitoring.
