The charter is not a private foundation and contributions qualify as tax deductions by the contributor. The charter has been evaluated for uncertain tax positions and the management has determined that there are no uncertain tax positions as of June 30, 2021. The charters tax returns are subject to examination by the taxing authorities. Federal tax returns remain open for a possible examination period of three years after the date of the filed returns. During the period ending June 30, 2021, the school has not incurred any interest or penalties on its tax returns. Schedule D, Part X, Line 2 A tax expense or benefit from an uncertain income tax position (including tax-exempt status) may be recognized only when it is more likely than not that the position will be sustained upon examination by taxing authorities. The Director makes recommendations to the Board for other staff based upon annual performance reviews and comparative salary information from other Minnesota charter schools.
