Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 8a TPCS' board of directors meetings are conducted with written agendas, report and minutes Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The TPCS governing body (the board of directors) and its treasurer prepares, and reviews the printed form 990 and related schedules at its scheduled meetings, prior to filing of the tax return in December of each year. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The TPCS board of directors monitors and determines each year at its scheduled meetings that there are no conflict of interests with respect to TPCS activities as they relate to any other relationship BoD members might have with other entities. The absence of any conflict of interest is verified in board meetings. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 18 TPCS' form 990 and related schedules is available for viewing on web page(s) that display non-profit organizations' tax returns. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 TPCS creates and retains its governing documents (bylaws, articles of incorporation, operating handbook, etc.), conflict of interest policy, and financial statements, these artifacts are reviewed and managed by the Board of Directors. They are not generally available expect when requested and approved to be shared by the BoD. I filed the form 990 and related forms (Sch A & O) for TPCS in Dec 2021 for the tax year 8/2020-7/2021. The tax return forms were printed and mailed on 12/1/2021 and posted as received by IRS on 12/17/21. This is the method I have used to submit the tax returns for 32 years. I did not know that the IRS had not processed this return until I received IRS' letter (LTR2694C dated 5/12/22) on 5/14/22. That letter explained that the Form 990 could not be processed by IRS and it was returned to me, because it is now required that these tax returns be filed electronically, not printed and mailed. I did not know of the requirement to file electronically and I also did not know how to file the 990 electronically. The 990 form that I download each year from the IRS form page to autofill the tax data creates a .pdf when it is completed that can be saved and printed (I do that), but I did not know how to e-file the return. Now that I have received the notice that I filed the 990 incorrectly I have learned that I have to create and file the 990 return using a "trusted" filing company listed on the IRS webpage. I am in the process of completing the return and will e-file it asap and I will continue to do so in the future. I apologize that I did not e-file the return in 12/21 (I mailed it instead). As mentioned above I did not know that the TPCS return was not accepted by IRS until the letter I received in May 2022, so I hope to rectify that (based on my error) right away.
