However, the school continued to make significant advances. The school continues to be one of only nineteen public schools in the nation to maintain accreditation with the American Montessori Society and Cognia, formally known as SACS. The accreditation will remain in effect until 2028. The school is in the third year of a Strategic Plan that will benefit all stakeholders to ensure a solid foundation as we work towards our milestone of completing twenty-five years. The school's students and staff, ever mindful of their humanitarian obligations, received recognition from a number of community based organizations for their support. The school created organic gardens in the Kindergarten through 6th grade, and an indoor garden in the Middle School. The school participated in school wide recycling. Schedule E, Part I, Line 6 The Coral Reef Montessori Academy Charter School is a component unit of the Miami-Dade District School Board and as such receives Federal, State and Local Government funding through the State and the School District. The right to this funding has never been revoked or suspended. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The draft IRS Form 990 is emailed to each board member. The accountant is available to answer any questions. After all questions are answered, each board member approves the Form 990 by return email and then receives a final copy of the 990. The approval is then ratified at the following board meeting. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The school follows the conflict of interest policy of the Miami-Dade County School Board. Accordingly, the board members must file annual statements with the Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections, which includes a statement of financial interest. Members of the Board of Directors review the relationships of all employees and vendors on an ongoing basis in accordance with this policy.
