Student members, these individuals must be actively enrolled in a degree granting program and cannot vote or hold office; 4. Emeritus members, these individuals are retired and no longer receive support from a university, institution, or corporation. They may vote for amendments to the articles of incorporation of the bylaws, elect officers and members of the nominating committee. These type of members do not pay membership dues. The EC has the powers of the Council and is authorized to act for the Council between Council meetings and it does not diminish the authority of the Council. All acts of the EC shall be reported to the Council for ratification at its subsequent meetings. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, line 7a The Nominating Committee shall propose at minimum two candidates for the offices of Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer and for each Councilor and The Obesity Society's regional Vice-President for North America in the years where applicable.
