Essentially, we raise money to spend on the Mansfield High School football program, but we also collect funds from the parents and use those funds to pay for purchases (a booster club that has check-writing capabilities to pay bills as the come due). Besides the fundraising where we actually bring in money, the majority of our funds ae classified as "pass-through" funds where parents pay into the Gridiron so the Gridiron can accumulate the money and then write one check to a vendor to pay for products/services. During this tax year the Gridiron collected previously solicited donations and grants to cover a veteran's memorial we are calling Hero's Corner built in the corner of Alumni Field at the high school. Pledges and anticipated grants will cover the cost of the memorial. This past year has been unusual due to COVID-19 restrictions. Therefore both revenue and expenses were significantly reduced.
