The Friends of Burlington Island (FOBI) worked with the Board of Island Managers to help maintain trails and provide much-needed island clean-up. We developed a PowerPoint presentation on the history of Burlington Island and its importance to the local region and we grew our membership substantially through this and other civic efforts. Once organizations began to go quiet during the pandemic closures, we were able to provide several Zoom presentations to community groups. FOBI donated a new metal garage door and locking mechanism to the Board of Island Managers to enable additional security of trail maintenance equipment stored on the island. FOBI set up working committees within our organization and began establishing relationships with groups who were focused on the Delaware River and Pennsylvania and New Jersey watersheds.
