Fallbrook Commons is a joint venture development between North Country Associates, LLC and Sandy River Company, both Maine-based companies with decades of experience developing and operating senior care centers. Saint Joseph's was founded by The Archdiocese of Portland and was acquired by MaineHealth in 2017. Since its acquisition, MaineHealth has made significant investments, and absorbed significant financial losses in order to maintain operations, enhance the quality of care and maximize the facility's use during its final years. As part of a planned transition, MaineHealth sold 102 bed licenses to Fallbrook Commons. MaineHealth will begin to assess how to best utilize the remaining assets of Saint Joseph's to enhance the health of the individuals and communities that it serves.
