Part I, Line 2: Parents/guardians are required to apply for financial aid by submitting the parent's financial statement form through the school and student service for financial aid (SSS) of the National Association of Independent Schools. A copy of the parent's financial statement form, income tax statement, W-2's and a cover letter describing the specific reasons for seeking assistance are submitted to the school's business manager. SSS provides the school and parent their analysis of the parent's financial statement along with their recommendation on the amount the parents are able to pay toward tuition. The financial aid committee reviews the information provided by the parents and SSS. Each application is discussed and initial financial aid amounts are determined. The committee gives priority to funding high school students financial aid needs followed by middle school students financial aid needs and finally lower school students financial aid needs. The committee reviews the initial financial aid amounts and makes modifications based on total funding available and to ensure financial aid amounts are consistent for students with similar financial situation within the same school levels. (lower school, middle school, and high school). The committee also ensures that all AAAIS (Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools) guidelines are followed. All applicants are notified of the decision of the financial aid committee. All applicants that are awarded financial aid are given two weeks to accept or reject the offer. Upon acceptance by the applicant, the financial aid award is communicated to the school accountant who ensures the financial aid is applied to the applicants account.
