Hemophilia Treatment Centers increases access to care and provides integrated services to children and adults with rare, bleeding disorders. HFM also provides financial assistance to families impacted by bleeding disorders. Funds are used to pay for housing, utilities, mobility assistance devices, and car repairs and maintenance. Those with bleeding disorders and/or have immediate family with a bleeding disorder are welcome to submit an online application for an academic scholarship to help fund their post-secondary education. The HFM Scholarship Review Committee grades each application with a rubric. The two highest scoring applicants are then awarded the scholarships where funds are directly distributed to their respective schools. As a part of the proposed budget, there are recommend salaryincreases for the staff. Salary increases are determined using a cost-of-living index, regional salaries for similar organizations, and personalcontacts with other nonprofit organizations. The treasurer presents the budget recommendation to the full board at the meeting in December. The budget is reviewed and approved including salary recommendation. The executive committee performs an annual evaluation of the executive director prior to the employment anniversary date and makes a salary recommendationusing comparison data from other similar organizations. Any salary increases are approved by the executive board and documented in the applicable minutes.
