They submit an essay to describe how the scholarship will help them attain post-secondary education. Also, paricipants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, completed a minimum of 15 hours/year of volunteer work, and have 10 hours/year of attendance at Con Mi Madre conferences. A scholarship committee of board members is formed to review applications and present their unanimous top three selections to the Program Director. Students receive notification of their scholarship after the Con Mi Madre graduation ceremony at the end of May. Recipients are required to confirm the school they are attending and submit official notification of enrollment. At that time, Con Mi Madre distributes the scholarship funds directly to the institution the awardee is attending.
