For air travel, business/first class is allowable for reasons of health upon resolution of the Board and for travel west of the Mississippi. For rail travel, business class is allowable on the Acela as there is no Coach. One member of the Board of Trustees maintains a membership at a nearby university alumni club that offers lodging to its members as a lower-cost alternative to lodging at local area hotels. Club premises are also utilized for Fund business purposes for certain Board or Finance committee meetings. Since Fund business is regularly conducted on-site, member dues are paid by the Fund. Schedule J, Part I, Line 3 The Personnel & Benefits Committee of the Board of Trustees obtained a salary survey from an independent compensation consulting firm for all employee positions of comparable organizations. The survey was reviewed by the Personnel & Benefits committee. The survey is also used to support the recommendation of the Executive Director's salary which is recommended to the full Board of Trustees who have final approval for the proposed salary. For key employee positions, the committee reviews salary ranges with the Executive Director who recommends salaries for the committee to consider. Schedule J, Part I, Line 4 Employees are given the option to participate in a 403(b) plan that is funded solely through employee salary deferrals. Also, certain employees are participants in the Fund's 457 deferred compensation plan, which was frozen effective December 3, 2015. Plan participants are Betty Jo Lesonsky, and Joseph DeRocchis. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c All officers, Trustees and key employees are given a conflict of interest policy form annually. They are required to complete, sign and submit the conflict of interest form to the Fund. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 The Personnel & Benefits committee of the Board of Trustees periodically obtains a salary survey from an independent consulting firm for all employee positions of comparable organizations. The survey is reviewed by the Personnel & Benefits committee. Compensation surveys are also provided to the Board of Trustees. These surveys reflect salary ranges for all staff positions in comparable organizations, as well as staffers' compensation at the time of the survey. Annually, all employees, including the Executive Director complete a performance review. The Executive Director's salary is reviewed by Personnel & Benefits Committee and proposed salary increases are recommended to the full Board of Trustees who have final approval for the proposed salary.
