Pirate's Point - amended to release the owner's right to construct a single-family residence on the property. One easement was transferred: Meadow Brook - transferred to George's River Land Trust. Part II, Line 5: Conservation easements require communications with landowners, monitoring visits at least once each year, reviewing landowner plans for changes that are addressed in the easement and approving or denying them, working with the organization's attorney to deal with violations and amendments, and in some cases transferring easements to other organizations. Some easements require very little time and others require lengthy discussions, negotiations, repeated visits, and specific management. Maintaining good communication with landowners is the key factor in avoiding violations and legal quagmires. As original Grantors pass on or transfer their property, it is especially important to quickly make contact and develop relationships with the new landowners and to help them understand the purpose and restrictions of the easement if necessary.
