The Town of Liberty identified a lack of resources and services available in Sullivan County, NY for unwanted, neglected, and abused animals. There was a need for a facility to provide proper housing, veterinary care, and rehabilitation for these animals, as well as provide education to the public about proper animal care and training. The new animal shelter includes an adoption center; spay/neuter surgical rooms; a food preparation room; a washing room; dog kennels, including an isolation area; separate cat kennels; and a community
