However, OSA is required to report unrelated business income to the Internal Revenue Service, the District of Columbia, the states of New York and California. In addition, the Internal Revenue Service has determined that OSA is not a private foundation as defined in Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. OSA's source of unrelated business income consists of advertising income. No provision for income taxes has been made at December 31, 2018 and 2017 as expenses offset taxable income. OSA follows guidance in ASC 740-10 "Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes," whereby an organization must recognize the tax benefit associated with tax positions taken for tax return purposes when it is more-likely than not that the position will be sustained. OSA does not believe there are any material uncertain tax positions and accordingly, will not recognize any liability for unrecognized tax benefits. OSA has filed Internal Revenue Form 990 tax returns as required and all applicable returns in those jurisdictions where they are required.
