During 2018 the Conservancy protected 579 acres of woodlands, prairie, pasture, and farmland. We also planted and restored hundreds of acres of wetlands, prairie and oak savanna (mostly Monarch habitat plantings). And we facilitated two special projects, the Driftless Trail and Lowery Creek Watershed Partnership, and the Southwest Grasslands Network collaboration. 127252 0 0 The Conservancy's community engagement and outreach programs aim to connect people to the land and to one another. We aim to educate and inspire current and future generations to protect and steward our unique Driftless landscape. In 2018 we expanded our efforts to coordinate community leaders and citizens in opposition to a massive and unneeded transmission line project that, if constructed, would disrupt and destroy habitats in our service area. Potential violations of conservation easements are resolved on a case by case basis.
