<FactsAndCircumstancesTestTxt>Systems of Care Initiative, Inc. (SOCI) was formed and received its determination letter as a 501(c)(3) public charity in late 2018. It began operations after receipt of a substantial contribution from a Private Foundation in January 2019. This allowed the organization to hire an Executive Director and start its first program serving the needs of children. With 2019 being the initial year of operations the organization was focused on establishing good processes and procedures and developing a case for support that could be shared with prospective donors regarding the organization's mission and vision. The organization's ability to obtain funding was severely curtailed during the pandemic due to being such a young organization with its primary method of obtaining support through in-person solicitations. Pandemic challenges continued into 2021 and even 2022.In 2023, a new Executive Director was hired with deep ties in the not-for-profit community and the original Executive Director became Director of Program Development. This was intended to allow more time for the Executive Director to focus on fundraising. Unfortunately, the new Executive Director only stayed with the organization for nine months. In 2023, SOCI's board of directors made it a priority goal for the organization to increase its donor base of individuals, corporations, and foundations as the organization entered its first full year of true fundraising since it began and post-Covid. The board was fully engaged in fundraising and helped to build a list of more than 260 prospects for support. Amid staff transitions in the executive director role, the board was able to sustain the fundraising activities and connect with numerous potential individual, corporate, or foundation donors, nearly doubling its points of contact with donors in 2023 from 2022. As a result, SOCI's donor base increased by 200% in 2023. SOCI also implemented new annual giving strategies for the first time in its history to secure public support, such as running a fundraising campaign on Giving Tuesday. As a result, the organization acquired new donors in 2023 at all levels of giving (under $100, between $100 - $250, $250 - $1,000, $1,000 - $5,000, and over $5,000). The number of grants awarded from corporations or foundations increased to 11 in 2023 from 3 in 2022. The board made a decision in late 2023 to identify and hire a fundraising consultant to develop a fundraising plan that will help increase its revenue and broaden its base of public support. SOCI also hired marketing consultants to build letter and email content, brochures, and update its website to strengthen its public image and case for support. The Board of Directors remains highly engaged in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting prospective donors to continually broaden SOCI's donor base. SOCI's governing board represents the broad interests of the public with diverse backgrounds, skill sets, and perspectives. The President formerly founded an investment firm and currently leads a premier producer of exceptional vanilla extracts in fine specialty food stores across the United States. The Secretary is an entrepreneur and small business owner with a background in civil engineering currently focusing full-time in early childhood education. The Treasurer advises providers across the United States on how to cut healthcare costs and improve health outcomes for individuals and families. This member also has public sector experience at the federal level. The Executive Director has held other Executive Director positions and served in several educational capacities over her career. In addition, she has led local and state collaborations to support quality initiatives in early childhood and has been a key player in the development of financial private-partnerships. Another member of the board is the Founder and CEO of an award-winning IT consulting and professional services firm and one of the top 500 Hispanic Businesses in the United States and serves on a variety of boards. The final board member is a seasoned board leader with over 30 years experience serving diverse communities through organizational development, process improvement, and human resources. The board was developed with the goal of bringing together a diverse group of individuals with varying experiences to draw on their talents and connections to better the lives of children. In 2024, the organization made significant progress in broadening its base of public support. Specifically, the organization achieved a 77% increase in total public support, raising its public support percentage to 32.06%. This increase reflects deliberate efforts to diversify funding sources through expanded community outreach and by establishing new connections with potential donors. The substantial upward trend in support demonstrates the organization's responsiveness to community needs and its success in attracting a broader public base.</FactsAndCircumstancesTestTxt>
