Each participant's individual functioning level is continually assessed and programs and goals are developed that suit every individual's needs. Participants in the Day Habilitation program work on targeted goals and behaviors such as adaptive living, communication and food preparation skills and the elimination of inappropriate behaviors (such as aggression). Part of each participant's day is spent in the community where participants develop a more productive role in society. Each resident enjoys various recreational and social activities on a regular basis. The site officially opened in January 2017. QSAC's Day School program provides children 5 to 21 years of age with an appropriate education, implemented in the least restrictive environment. Each student in the QSAC Day School receives individualized programming that is designed and implemented in conjunction with the Committee on Special Education, the student's family, the student's school teacher, therapists, and the Director of the School. Each program is designed according to the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. The QSAC Day School also provides related services and offers family members the opportunity to take part in Parent Training Workshops and Family Support Groups.
