The detention basin's six lakes capture and temporarily store excess water from Willow Waterhole Bayou, reducing flooding in the Brays Bayou watershed before gradually releasing the water back once levels recede. 4097404 Capital Improvements: Capital improvements for the Willow Waterhole Greenspace Conservancy include projects that enhance both conservation and public access across the park's six lakes and surrounding habitats. These efforts encompass the construction of new paved walking and biking trails that connect key areas of the greenway, along with the addition of amenities such as parking lots, picnic areas, fishing piers, way-finding signage, benches, and trailheads to support visitor use and enjoyment.
