Public interest justification: the permits violate federal Clean Air Act standards and threaten the health of people living near the mines. MEA also received $750 (CWAC v. Wisconsin DNR) to petition for judicial review of a state agency settlement with industry that violates the law and will allow surface water and groundwater pollution from large concentrated animal feeding operations.
