The new guidance requires presenting the unamortized balance of debt placement fees as a direct deduction from the face amount of the related debt and classification of periodic amortization as interest expense. Previously, unamortized debt placement fees were reflected as an asset in the balance sheet. The March 31, 2016 balance has been retro-actively reclassified, reducing total assets and debt at March 31, 2016 by $383,535 with no effect on net assets. Interest expense for the year ended March 31, 2016 has been increased and amortization expense has been decreased by $30,693, with no effect on previously reported net assets.
