Our offerings include case management, day programming, and residential services. We offer residential services at 20 separate locations within our 5 county service area. These locations vary and include 4 Intermediate Care Facilities for the intellectually disabled and varous other group homes. These residential settings enable our patients to integrate themselves into their communities. We also provide day programming for our patients and respite services for the families that care for their child in their home. Our day programming stresses continued training and habilitation for our patients, helping them develop or maintain necessary skills to improve their ability to function within the community. We cover a 5 county service area in Northern West Virginia, operating out of 8 clinical locations. Northwood Health Systems provides services to over 3,000 patients each year. The vast majority of our patients are covered by Medicaid, and many of the patients not covered by Medicaid qualify for free care through our charity care policy. In fiscal year 2016, Northwood Health Systems provided nearly $1.425 million dollars in charity care. Stakeholders were identified as experts in a particular field related to their background, experience or professional position and/or someone who understood the needs of a particular underrepresented group or constituency. The interviews and focus groups were conducted across the region with various community constituencies who suffered from chronic and serious mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness and intellectual disabilities. Facility Group A Part V line 22d The maximum amount that can be charged to FAP eligible individuals for medically necessary care is the Medicaid reimbursement rate for the service. 01. Other charity care criteria description (Part I, line 3c) We provide free care to patients who do not have insurance and have an income level that is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. 02. Related organization annual community benefit report (Part I, line 6a) We prepare an annual community benefit report which is posted to our website. It is also available to the public by request. No related organizations prepare a separate community benefit report. 03. Community building activities (Part II) Northwood operates various programs at a substantial loss. We continue to provide these services because they are needed in the community. Reimbursement for the service is below our cost to operate the programs. The subsidy is approximately 3.3% of our revenue. Northwood has included the cost for the operation of our unfunded homeless shelter. 04. Debt expense included (Part I, line 7, col(f)) Northwood did not include any bad debt expense in the calculation of our community benefit. 05.
