<ExplanationTxt>GLOBAL BANJARA BAPTIST MINISTRIES, INDIAANNUAL REPORT 2024 School Project - Aletheia Banjara School: Boarding Facilities: At present, our school houses 62 boarders who are temporarily accommodated in classrooms, sleeping on the floors. The prolonged drought in this region has forced many families to migrate elsewhere in search of livelihood, leaving them with no choice but to enroll their children in boarding schools. Construction of Teachers Quarters: The Teachers Quarters have been completed, and six of our teachers are now comfortably settled into four apartments. This new facility allows our staff to stay close to the school and focus more fully on guiding and supporting our students. Weve also built eight new toilets, greatly improving hygiene and convenience for both students and staff. These achievements have been possible only with the generous support of our donors. Your contributions continue to make a lasting difference in the lives of our teachers and students. From all of us at the school, thank you for standing with us and helping create a better learning environment for our children. Achievements: A team from our school participated in the Mandal-level Kabaddi and Kho-Kho competitions, representing the school with commendable discipline and enthusiasm. Their active involvement reflected the schools commitment to promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students. Two alumni of Aletheia Banjara School successfully completed their bachelors degrees in engineering and have commenced their Masters programs in the United Kingdom. Their academic progress reflects the strong foundational learning and commitment to excellence nurtured by the school. Another former student completed her Masters degree in the United States and secured employment there. Notably, she was the only Indian candidate selected from a pool of 219 applicants, a distinction that demonstrates her exceptional ability and dedication. These achievements highlight the impact of the schools vision to provide quality education and holistic development, enabling students to pursue higher education and global career opportunities. Summer Camps: During the summer of 2024, summer camps were conducted in 17 villages across three states to strengthen rural communities and support the development of children in Banjara villages. A total of 2,756 children participated in the program. The camps provided structured learning experiences that promoted life skills, health awareness, and social interaction. Activities such as storytelling, hygiene workshops, and team challenges encouraged moral reflection, improved personal and community health practices, and fostered collaboration among participants. Key outcomes included improved confidence and teamwork among children, greater awareness of hygiene and first aid, and increased community engagement. The participation of parents, local leaders, and volunteers was instrumental in ensuring the programs success. These initiatives reinforced the organizations commitment to holistic education and rural development. The programs impact demonstrates the effectiveness of community-based approaches in building safe, nurturing environments for children. The organization acknowledges with gratitude the contributions of volunteers, families, and community partners whose efforts led to measurable progress and strengthened the foundation for future initiatives. Youth Camp: The Youth Camp brought together 45 enthusiastic young participants from various Banjara villages. Designed to nurture integrity, respect, and responsibility, the camp offered a blend of education and recreation. Storytelling sessions encouraged reflection on moral values, while health and hygiene workshops taught essential practices for daily life. Games and friendly competitions fostered teamwork and leadership, creating an atmosphere of unity and energy. A career counseling session gave participants their first structured exposure to academic and vocational guidance. For many, this was a defining experience that ignited new aspirations and confidence for the future. Health Awareness Camp: A Health Awareness Camp was held in a remote village, attracting 55 participants of all ages. Health professionals led engaging discussions on sanitation, clean water, and prevention of monsoon-related illnesses such as dengue and malaria. Interactive sessions and open forums allowed villagers to ask questions about hygiene and nutrition. Sewer System Cleaning Initiative: For years, monsoon floods due to a poorly maintained sewer system had affected an entire village. Recognizing the urgency, one volunteer mobilized fifteen young men to address the issue. What began as a small cleanup soon became a community-wide movement. Men, women, and children contributed by providing tools, food, and encouragement. Over several days, sewer lines were cleared which drastically reduce flood risk and improves hygiene. This initiative symbolized the collective strength of community action and served as a model of civic responsibility and leadership. Cleaning of Road by the Lake: The lake road, once overtaken by thorny bushes, was restored through the determination of 10 villagers led by our volunteer. Their spirit of collaboration inspired others to join, turning the project into a shared mission. The cleared path now stands as a daily reminder of how unity and local initiative can improve safety and quality of life. Cleaning of Water Canal: Eighty villagers joined forces to clean a blocked irrigation canal that had caused flooding and crop loss. Using simple tools and a shared vision, they restored water flow and prevented further agricultural damage. The leadership of volunteer inspired appreciation and pride among the community. The project showed how teamwork can translate into sustainable development and strengthened rural self-sufficiency. Sweater Distribution: In October 2024, sweaters were distributed to migrant workers and families enduring winter hardships. After conducting a needs survey, our volunteer coordinated the distribution, ensuring each recipient received proper winter wear. Medical Camp: Volunteer doctors led multiple medical camps offering free check-ups, consultations, and essential medicines. Residents were treated for common ailments, and awareness sessions addressed disease prevention and hygiene practices. The proactive participation of villagers demonstrated growing trust in preventive healthcare, making these camps a cornerstone of rural health promotion. DWCRA Awareness Program for Women: A DWCRA awareness meeting was conducted to strengthen womens financial independence and knowledge of government support schemes. Facilitated by a Grameen Bank official, the session covered savings, microloans, and self-help group benefits. Women were also introduced to educational opportunities and financial literacy concepts, empowering them to plan, save, and support their families more effectively. The event encouraged confidence and active participation in village development. Awareness on Prevention of Child Marriages: A special campaign addressed the pressing issue of child marriages in Banjara villages. Local educators, activists, and officials joined to raise awareness about legal frameworks and the social consequences of early marriage. The discussions also celebrated girls education as a pathway to empowerment, and many villagers voiced their support to end this practice. This initiative marked a transformative stride toward protecting childrens rights and shaping a more equitable community. Women's Health Awareness: Womens Health Camps were conducted to educate participants about menstrual hygiene, nutrition, and preventive care. Medical professionals guided sessions that were simple and interactive, ensuring accessibility across all ages. Health kits containing booklets and essential items were distributed, and the response was overwhelmingly positive. Participants appreciated the safe space for sharing and learning, paving the way for future programs focused on womens well-being. Blanket Distribution: A blanket distribution drive brought warmth to widows and low-income families battling the cold. Organized by local volunteers, the initiative was thoughtfully structured to ensure fairness and dignity. The smiles and gratitude of the beneficiaries reaffirmed the power of compassion and the role of community-led support. Support for Widow and Her Family: A single mother and her daughters facing financial struggles were assisted through a small but life-changing act of support. After learning about the daughters tailoring skills, our volunteer raised funds to provide them with a sewing and overlock machine. Church Planting: Over the past few years, the Global Banjara Baptist Ministries (GBBM) has faced growing challenges in reaching and ministering to the Banjara community.
