See the website www.ortop.org for more information and calendars of annual events. 315500 315500 ORTOP has entered into several agreements with a 501(c)(3) nonprofitorganization in New Hampshire called For Inspiration and Recognitionof Science and Technology (FIRST) to deploy youth robotics inOregon: FIRST LEGO League Junior, FIRST LEGO League and FIRST TechChallenge. FIRST creates annual robotic competitions in several agegroups and provides information for coaches, youth participants,volunteers, etc. to help provide local, regional, national, andinternational contests with a common set of rules. FIRST depends onaffiliate partners to run the contests in many parts of the USA. A501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Washington, called WashingtonFIRST Robotics (WA FIRST), has entered into similar agreements withFIRST to deploy these programs in Washington. WA FIRST has enteredinto an additional agreement with FIRST that provides that WA FIRSTdeploy FIRST Robotics Competitions (FRC - a robotics competition forhigh school students) in Washington and Oregon including hostingseveral other youth robotics events in Oregon. ORTOP did not haveresponsibility for FRC in Oregon during the fiscal year described inthis return. Accordingly when ORTOP received donations, which thedonor designated be used in support of FRC FIRST RoboticsCompetitions and supporting events, the amount of these donationsdesignated for FRC were allocated to WA FIRST. The total of theseallocations was $315,000.
