Most students received some form of financial aid through various scholarships and grants, providing the opportunity to pursue degrees. Campus employment and internships were made available to many students, providing financial resources and valuable work experiences. Many community service opportunities were provided through the Appalachian Center, the Outdoor Program, and the Chaplain's Office. The Outdoor Program continued its Outdoor Adventures Program. The College's equestrian riding team continued to be one of the most successful in the country. It was the 2016 IDA national champion. The riding program has won 19 national championships since 2001, and the College's IHSA, IDA and ANRC teams continue to offer opportunities for students to gain expertise in the hunter, jumper and dressage areas.
