The Mission serves 20,000 people annually who are living in poverty or difficult times due to job loss, death, divorce, domestic violence, eviction, fire, flooding or other natural disaster. Of the families served, 97% are categorized as "extremely poor", 30% are elderly or disabled, some are homeless and some are grand parents or other family members raising children. The mission serves an eleven zip code area that covers more than 800 square miles of East Montgomery County, Northeast Harris County, and part of Liberty County, Texas. 0 0 59092 Distribution of food, clothing, housewares, furnishings and financial assistance for rent, housing, utilities, medications and transportation. These services include monthly home delivery of food and other assistance for senior and disabled persons, the "Wheels and a Way to Work" program which provides assistance with gas cards and vehicle repairs so that adult students can get to classes and job training and newly employed persons have a way to get to work, and the Safe Haven Ministry which helps families who live in unsafe environments by assisting with home repairs, yard clean up, wheelchair ramps, utilities, and more.
