We provide educational resources, evidence-based prevention education to local schools, and maintain a library of prevention materials for distribution throughout the community to promote an alcohol and drug free life style. These initiatives are made possible by working with the federal Drug Free Communities and the statewide Substance Abuse Prevention programs. The Family and Community Support provides payments for items such as dental care, home repairs, utilities, and supplies for people with disabilities to allow them to remain in their homes. The payments are made directly to the vendors. The Mental Health Community Support pays utilities, prescriptions, transportation, and other health needs for people with various mental health issues. Form 990, Part III, Line 4d Program Service Expenses 138,685, Grants and allocations 0, Revenue 0 Our Family Resource Network creates a community communication network between families, agencies, businesses and local officials for the residents of Brooke and Hancock counties in WV. Approximately 30,000 residents have benefitted. Our disability committee is a support group that provides social activities for people with disabilities and their families and brings education and awareness to the community. The concerned citizens works on homeless issues. We help plan and organize a resource day where community agencies display and discuss information for all community members. We secured funding for Kelseys Christmas and Christian Fellowship Food Ministry. The first provides gifts and entertainment to children suffering through cancer treatments at Christmas time, the second is a Sunday night meal with a Christian message. The Family Resource Center is a safe place for Hancock and Brooke County families to receive material on their childrens development and parenting skills, and receive information and referrals to other community agencies and services as needed.
