During 2015 we expanded our community engagement efforts and developed new partnerships with organizations such as Southwest Wisconsin Community Action Program and their Head Start program. We partnered with several other nonprofits to protect land, and to lead landowner and estate planning workshops, field trips, and special educational events. Our land stewardship and property development activities included pollinator planting and improvement of a kiosk on land owned by the Conservancy. Violations of conservation easements are resolved on a case-by-case basis. Schedule D, Part II, Line 9 DALC records the purchase of easements as an expense in the year of purchase. No asset or liability is recorded in connection with easement acquisitions. Therefore, no revenue was reported on Form 990, Part VIII, line 1g. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b DALC makes the Form 990 available to all members of the board of directors prior to filing. The Finance Committee, which is made up of board members, reviews the Form prior to filing. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The Executive Director collects and reviews conflict of interest statements completed by each board member annually and communicates to applicable board members any potential conflicts of interest. Board members who have a conflict of interest are expected to excuse themselves from deliberation and decision about matters involving the conflict.
