As of 6/30/15, the balance held by the Organization on behalf of the School was $6,135,221 and is reported on line 21 of Part X. Part V, Line 4: The endowment funds are held for the benefit of Lake Highland Preparatory School, Inc. and are intended to be used to support the School's Christian ministries, teachers, Edison program (special education), and debate program. Part X, Line 2: The Foundation is exempt from federal income tax as an organization described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and from state income tax pursuant to Florida law. The Foundation is further classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a supporting organization described in Section 509(a)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and not a private foundation. The Foundation has not incurred unrelated business income taxes. As a result, no income tax provision or liability has been provided for in the accompanying financial statements. The Foundation has not taken any material uncertain tax positions for which the associated tax benefits may not be recognized under accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America.
