These include updates on congressional actions that may impact the SBA 504 program, actions or proposals by SBA, other program financial or technical issues, and items of general interest to members. NADCO generally holds one annual meeting, one mid-year meeting and may offer one symposium per year. Professional Education: NADCO provides the only education for CDC staff and attorneys that focuses solely on the SBA 504 loan program. These courses are delivered in-person twice each year: once in conjunction with the annual meeting and once in the Winter/Early Spring. These courses are generally two or three days, with most requiring either industry and 504 experience, or prerequisites of certain NADCO courses for the more advanced courses. The courses focus on all aspects of 504 loan packaging, closing, servicing, and liquidation. NADCO also offers a more limited offering of on-line courses. Government Relations: One of NADCO's primary missions is to represent the CDC membership at various governmental levels. These include both the Congress and the Small Business Administration. NADCO advises the staff of both the House and Senate small business committees on industry and 504 concerns and recommends courses of action as needed when Congress is considering legislation affecting either SBA or the 504 loan program. NADCO also works closely with the management and field staff of the SBA in developing and managing loan policies, regulations, and practices. Our objective is to ensure that reasonable policies are developed that do not hinder CDC abilities to deliver 504 to small businesses.
