CCDA is generally no longer subject to U.S. federal and state income tax examinations by tax authorities for years before 2011. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 11 The Form 990 is prepared and reviewed by an independent CPA firm. The form is then reviewed by management and presented to the Finance Committee before filing. The Finance Committee, led by the Board Treasurer, is responsible for financial oversight of the organization. The board also receives a copy of the Form 990 before filing with the IRS. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c The conflict of interest policy is provided to each Board Member at the annual meeting. Members must sign a statement acknowledging they've received, read, understand, and agree to comply with the policy. The statements are reviewed by the CEO and COO. If new conflicts arise, members must promptly disclose. If a true conflict exists (majority vote by board), that member would be precluded from discussion and voting on the matter. Violations of the policy result in appropriate disciplinary or corrective action from the governing board.
