In 2014, EMI worked on 71 projects in 22 countries, sending out teams that totalled 162 volunteers and 58 interns. These projects represent design work that will enable the construction of hospitals, schools, orphanages, water pipelines, ministry centers, youth camps, churches and places to live for some of the poorest people in the hardest to reach corners of the world. Engineering Ministries International will enter into no contract or transaction with a related party, unless: (1) the material facts of the conflict of interest and the transaction are known to the board of directors and the board authorizes the transaction by a majority votes of its members, excluding any interested parties, and (2) the contract or transaction is fair to Engineering Ministries International. The independent board of directors reviews the compensation criteria of all employees by comparing the current salary structures of both the ministry world and design field world. From there EMI scales back the salary levels using 4 criteria: 1. years of experience, 2. education, 3. professional capability and 4. pastoral ability Compensation decisions are recorded in the board minutes and compensation packages are reviewed periodically for appropriateness.
