It is the practice of VHCF to immediately sell any gifts of stock. In FY14 VHCF completed the process of converting this software to a web-based platform. This enabled 150 organizations which use TPC to obtain 383 million in free medicines for 45,000 sick, uninsured Virginians. In addition, VHCF provides technical assistance to its many grantees and others in the health care safety net. It also provides 105,000 to the RxPartnership RxP as directed by the states budget bill and 10,000 via a VHCF contribution. RxP is a program which VHCF helped establish in 2003 to obtain free prescription medicines in bulk from the nations brand name pharmaceutical companies. To that end, it used designated contributions to underwrite a Dental Opportunities iniative. In FY15, VHCF agreed to provide 150,000 to match an equal amount of federal funds for Virginias Student Loan Repayment Program for health professionals. This enabled health safety net organizations to recruit a doctor, two dentists and a psychologist to some of Virginias most underserved areas. Finally, VHCF continues to fund the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Scholarship Program.
