The SIUE Alumni Association will also adhere to the core values of respect, generosity, service, and quality of life. 0 0 328662 0 0 The SIUE Alumni Association, as the voice of SIUE alumni, will foster the advancement of SIUE Alumni and will strive to support SIUE, it's students, and the community. The Association endeavors to Engage, Educate, and Empower the more than 90,000 SIUE graduates for life. The Association fulfills this mission through the use of a variety of communication tools including the SIUE Alumni Magazine (eConnection) which is published twice a year. The magazine is mailed twice a year to the more than 75,000 alumni households. The magazine provides readers updates on developments on campus, alumni events and benefits, and the status of fellow graduates. A PDF file of the magazine is also posted on the SIUE Alumni website. The Association also uses regular mailings to graduates, as well as monthly electronic newsletter called the eDition to provide information of interest. The Alumni Association also strives to provide "lifelong learning" opportunities through seminars, webinars, continuing education programs, and alumni speakers. Many of these programs are offered with the cooperation of the SIUE Office of Educational Outreach. Attendance in these individual programs has ranged from six to more than sixty. The Association also provides alumni with a wide range of benefits associated with membership. These benefits range from discounts at more than 50 regional businesses to on-line buying services and on-campus programs. Alumni Association members can take advantage of reduced fees, at the SIUE Student Fitness Center, Campus Bookstore, Cougar Lake Pool, the Arts & Issues Series, the Career Development Center and SIUE Cougar athletic events. Library privileges are also provided to members of the Association. Association members also received discounts to all Association also sponsored events such as the highly attended annual SIUE Alumni Day at Busch Stadium, with an average attendance of 300. The Association also provides a wide-range of insurance products through a cooperative agreement with American Insurance Administrators which generates an annual royalty of $12,000. The Association also partners with Bank of America to offer credit card, debit card, and checking account services to SIUE Alumni, with the Association receiving an annual royalty on usage and memberships. Dollars from each of these programs enhance the Association's ability to deliver it's programs and services. The Association also sponsors a student alumni association called STAT-Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow. Through this program SIUE Alumni are engaged to serve as mentors to students who are STAT members. This provides graduates with an opportunity to stay engaged with the university and its students. The Association also encourages and enables alumni to serve on advisory boards, alumni councils, and academic advisory boards, which further enhance the operations of the university. Ultimately, the Alumni Association works to maintain accurate alumni records in the database housed in the SIUE Foundation. This database enables the university to more effectively reach out to SIUE alumni for the purpose of volunteer participation, donations, and service. Funds are provided to the University Financial Aid Office who applies the money directly to the students' accounts. The filing is reviewed in detail to ensure the committee is comfortable with the process used by management to complete the form. One responsibility of the committee is to evaluate a salary range. The Human Resources Department of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville maintains extensive salary data and since employees are paid by the University and not by the filing organization, the University assists in the process of determining an appropriate salary to offer based on review of comparable positions and budgetary consideration.
