During the academic year, the GSSG students live with host families. Academic and team building workshops are held each year depending on the availability of funding. At the end of each academic year, the students return to Guatemala to maintain their cultural identity. During the academic year, some GSSG college/university students live with host families; others live in dormitories or in off-campus housing.
