In addition, WHI built 25 latrines giving approximately 415 people access to safe sanitation facilities. Toilets installed at both a primary school and teacher's quarters will increase school attendance and incentivize qualified educator to remain in the community. During well and latrine construction, WHI provided training to community members in well and latrine maintenance. The Adelphé program engaged 93 Woman in East Asia in savings groups and an additional 61 women received small business loans. 46 families took our small business loans, 8 families paid off their small business loans, and 32 village training sessions were conducted. Training on writing project proposals, the construction of a rice storage barn, and anti-trafficking seminars were additionally conducted. World Hope International has adopted the authoritative guidance relating to accounting for uncertainty in income taxes included in ASC topic income taxes. These provisions provide consistent guidance for the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an entity's financial statements and prescribe a threshold of "more likely than not" for recognition and derecognition of tax positions taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. World Hope International performed an evaluation of uncertain tax positions for the year ended December 31, 2013 and determined that there were no matters that would require recognition in the consolidated financial statements or that may have any effect on its tax-exempt status.
