In November 2013, a team of two engineers traveled to South Sudan to provide technical backstopping to Food for the Hungry for the flooding situation that frequently occurs in the Upper Nile region of South Sudan. Food for the Hungry is engaged in a 12 month Community Resilience Initiative design to assist in the recovery of flood affected communities. The engineers were able to provide guidance so that these communities could increase their food security.. 126297 1599 106562 In January 2013, a team of 10 architects and engineers traveled to Cambodia to develop a master plan for Remember Nhu as well as design a new children's home complete with water, wastewater, and electrical plans. Remember Nhu has served the children of South East Asia by preventing the exploitation of children in the sex trade industry by meeting holistic needs of at-risk children before being caught in the industry. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 12c The board and management team monitors all transactions entered into by Engineering Ministries International. Engineering Ministries International will enter into no contract or transaction with a related party, unless: (1) the material facts of the conflict of interest and the transaction are known to the board of directors and the board authorizes the transaction by a majority votes of its members, excluding any interested parties, and (2) the contract or transaction is fair to Engineering Ministries International. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, line 15 The independent board reviews and approves the CEO'S salary. Currently, officers' salaries are reviewed by the CEO. The independent board of directors reviews the compensation criteria of all employees by comparing the current salary structures of both the ministry world and design field world. From there EMI scales back the salary levels using 4 criteria: 1. years of experience, 2. education, 3. professional capability and 4. pastoral ability Compensation decisions are recorded in the board minutes and compensation packages are reviewed periodically for appropriateness.
