Currently, 900 acres are actively managed within our current boundaries. Prairie lands are being restored through controlled burns and mowing to reduce invasive species and by replanting native grasses. ABNC also manages 300 acres of Texas Coastal Preserve in the Armand Bayou watershed. Marsh restoration maintains appropriate water depth and supports marsh vegetation, such as smooth cord grass and bulrushes replantings. School groups participate in Texas Achievement and Knowledge Standards (TAKS) correlated outdoor classes, field trips, and programs featuring nature or historical subjects.
