Acculturation services provide assistance with immigration requirements, language education, and case management to individuals and families emigrating from the Former Soviet Union. In 2012 - A total of 898 people were assisted by our AGING AND CAREGIVER SERVICES- 562 seniors receive Case Management: Our goal is to provide older adults the opportunity to pursue a life of optimum independence and satisfaction, while living in their desired environment, which is usually their own home. - 210 Holocaust Survivors received case management, (con't p.27) home visits, restitution assistance, counseling and referral, social therapeutic activities, free hearing tests, and safety/adaptive equipment. - 91 Seniors received Professional Affairs Management services, Jewish Family Service is one of only two agencies contracted by Council on Aging to provide assistance with banking, bill paying, insurance, obtaining benefits and the like. Several staff members have become notaries to assist clients with services, and 4 are certified by the State of Ohio as Medicare counselors.- 55 residents at our Options Cincinnati program participated in case management, wellness programs, and social events based in two "naturally occurring retirement communities."- 82 new Americans received help from our Russian-speaking specialists to learn English, integrate into their new community, and gain American citizenship. 558348 116555 1755 Vital Services and Counseling: Vital Services provides emergency aid to households in need, operates a kosher food pantry, and offers case management services to people with severe mental illness also offers Family and Individual Counseling therapy services on a sliding-fee scale for people in crisis or needing to make changes to improve and strengthen the quality of their lives. In 2012 - A total of 849 people received safety net services from our VITAL SERVICES- 317 people were fed by our kosher food pantry. - 194 households Met with a case worker and created a plan towards self-sufficiency- 184 people found answers from our Information and Referral service. - 154 new households were served 281072 58674 376462 Adoption Connection offers services relative to adoption, including home study assessments and pre-adoption and post-adoption counseling. Client must submit appropriate documentation for both the disbursement and their eligibility. These requirements may differ depending on the funding source and the dept supervisor and case worker are both responsible for adhering to the grant requirements. Larger amounts are approved by an advisory committee and the Executive Director.
