C@R is also spearheading a multi-county Safe House NOW Task Force to establish, in great collaboration, the first safe house for domestic victims of child trafficking in Texas. 183971 C@R's Texas Juvenile Mental Health Courts Initiative aims to increase community based mental health services for the more than 70% of youth in the juvenile justice system with a mental health need, through the implementation/expansion of juvenile mental health courts. Children At Risk conducted the first independent evaluation of these courts in Texas to provide a comparison of quality, cost, and effectiveness of services compared to incarceration, best practices utilized, and methods of creation and expansion to provide a road map for counties to establish or improve current juvenile mental health courts.
