Family Medicine is a medical specialty in which the provider cares for the patient throughout all stages of his or her life and through all types of Illness and injury. In Family Medicine, we care for the individual and the family by integrating the biological, clinical, and behavioral sciences. Our Family Medicine Team approach is an integrated, holistic approach that combines primary care with social services and community-based programs, and treatment services with prevention plans. Our Family Medicine department includes 10 Primary Care Doctors and dozens of nurses, MAs and other support staff. Specifically, we are able to capture, manipulate and store crisp, clean bitewings, pans or cephs which are then attached to the patient?s electronic chart. We deliver high quality, comprehensive dental care to a broad range of the population including those most high-risk and under-served: HIV/AIDS, medically compromised, physically handicapped and geriatric populations. Together they provide the compassion, knowledge and clinical skills to expertly assess, diagnose and treat every patient who comes to them. Our Urgent Care Department also serves as a vital entryway to our broader patient care medical home. Our goal therefore is to not only treat all conditions that require immediate care, but also to identify a caregiver who will become the patient?s PCP. Urgent Care is open 7 days a week, because getting sick doesn't wait for the next business day.
